SAFETY & RULES
UL 2849 addresses the complete e-bike electrical system. UL 2271 addresses batteries for light electric vehicles. They are not interchangeable, and “compliant” does not automatically mean UL Certified.
MODEL LOOKUP
Complete electrical system
Covers the combined electrical drive system, charger and battery-system configuration for electrical and fire risks.
Read the UL overview ↗Battery system
Addresses battery packs and components for light electric vehicles; it does not rate range or performance.
Review the standard scope ↗EVIDENCE MATRIX
Priority goes to downloadable certificates, certification-body records and explicit model-page statements. If a page only says “tested,” names a lab without the standard, or omits the certificate number, the record remains “needs verification.”
STATE & CITY GUIDE
Choose a jurisdiction for a sourced operating-rule and incentive snapshot.
Summary only, not legal advice. Local ordinances, trail-manager rules and program funding can change; follow the linked official source before riding, selling or applying.
Routes are illustrative planning corridors, not turn-by-turn navigation. Construction, closures and e-bike class restrictions can change. Confirm the official city map, posted signs, weather and battery needs before departure.
DAILY E-BIKE BRIEFING
Product releases, safety actions, city policy and industry shifts—curated from public reporting and linked to the original publisher.
Headlines and short summaries are provided for discovery. Follow each source link for the complete report and any subsequent corrections.
PUBLIC-READINESS CENTER
EbikePick separates published claims from independently verified records, identifies every material source, and explains how corrections and release controls work.
01 · TERMS OF USE
By using EbikePick, you agree to use the information for general research and comparison only. You may link to individual source pages and use the interface for personal or internal decision-making. You may not scrape, republish, resell or misrepresent the database as your own, interfere with the service, or use it to make unlawful claims about a manufacturer or product.
We may correct, update, suspend or remove records when sources change or evidence is challenged. Product availability, specifications and prices can change without notice. Continued use after a posted policy update means you accept the revised terms.
02 · PRIVACY
This Private Beta does not require an EbikePick account, accept payments, run advertising trackers or request precise location. Model selections are stored only in your browser so the comparison can persist on that device. The hosting provider may process ordinary security and delivery logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and timestamp.
External links—including publishers, manufacturers, UL Solutions and map resources—operate under their own privacy policies. Before a public launch, any analytics, newsletter, account or location feature will require a separate notice and consent review.
03 · DISCLAIMER
EbikePick is independent and is not a manufacturer, testing laboratory, certification body, retailer, insurer or government agency. Nothing on this site is legal advice, a certification determination, a warranty, turn-by-turn navigation or a safety guarantee.
Always confirm specifications with the manufacturer, certification status in the relevant certification body’s current database, laws with the responsible authority, incentives with the program administrator, and route conditions with posted signs and official transportation sources.
04 · UL EVIDENCE POLICY
A missing public record does not prove that a product is uncertified. Conversely, a logo or generic “UL” statement does not establish that a specific model is certified.
05 · DATA METHODOLOGY
Normalized from public manufacturer, retailer and supplied research records. Units and categories are standardized; original source links remain attached. A dash means the field was not established.
Twenty recent, relevant English-language items from credible public publishers. Items are deduplicated by URL and event, summarized in original wording and linked to the publisher.
Planning corridors derived from public transportation and OpenStreetMap context. Geometry is illustrative and not turn-by-turn navigation.
Summaries prioritize government and program-administrator sources. Jurisdiction and funding changes are reviewed before publication updates.
Every material record should expose a source, verification status and last-reviewed context. Conflicting claims are downgraded rather than silently reconciled.
06 · COPYRIGHT & LICENSES
07 · OPERATIONS & CORRECTIONS
Each release is checked for required datasets, duplicate news URLs, valid outbound URL structure, visible source labels, map attribution and core navigation. Browser errors are captured locally for the current session; no personal error telemetry is transmitted in this Private Beta.
Every private deployment is retained as a versioned release so a defective update can be replaced by the last validated version. A public release will add scheduled HTTP monitoring and an external alert destination before access is widened.
Identify the page, model or statement, explain the issue, and include a reliable source. Requests involving certification should include the certification body, file number and covered model where available.
